Navarre win by three points in nail-biting showdown
Navarre have solidified their belief as potential finals contenders, coming from behind to hold on in a nail-biter against Newstead 48-45.

The Kangaroos managed to grab the upper hand in the opening quarter, with Brianna Jury and Tayla Gale both scoring seven goals to give the Kangaroos a 14-10 lead.
Chloe Frank was key for the Grasshoppers in limiting the margin to four, converting all eight of her shots in the first term.
Newstead was just able to extend their advantage by one after a 14-13 second quarter, leading by five heading into the main break.
With both teams keen to find an advantage, it was the Grasshoppers’ midfielders who would grab the second half advantage with their final third movement and accurate passing.
While many of the shooters started to cool from their white hot form, Erin Jackson continued to be precise for Navarre, making six goals from seven attempts in the third quarter to give the Grasshoppers a one goal lead at the end of the third.

At the conclusion of the final quarter it was the Grasshoppers who managed to pull away, taking a vital three goal victory to start their campaign.
Jackson was sharp around the net for Navarre, scoring 21 goals from 26 shots, while Frank scored the most goals with 22 goals from 32 shots and Brianna Hyslop added five goals in the last quarter.
The Kangaroos Jury and Gale were also clinical with their shooting, scoring 43 goals and only missing 12 shots between them, while Emily Cooper scored two goals in the third quarter.
