The landslide victory gives Navarre a big chance at being a top eight team when the final series comes around.

Campbells Creek was kept scoreless up until half time and their three goals came when Dylan Stevens goaled in the third term and Matthew Cox kicked two late goals in the dying stages of the fourth quarter.

Navarre had 10 shots on goal in the opening term, with Sam Rickard and Riley Bibby the only players to split the big sticks.

The Grasshoppers had improved their accuracy in the second quarter with eight goals in the term, being shared amongst seven different players.

The remainder of the game was again basically one-way and it was a disappointing and tough day at the office for the visiting team, but credit to them for giving their all for the entire game.

The reserves team also failed to score and only had 16 players named on the sheet, indicating they were very understaffed for the day, which has to be disappointing for the Campbells Creek management. Hopefully they can turn things around as the season progresses.

Navarre’s better players were Sam Rickard, Zak Varley, Luke Hendy, John Jok, Sam Walker and Harry Bigmore.

Creek was well served by Mitch Stevens, Mitch Langley, John Vakatau, Kyle Gellatly, Cox and Tyson Williams.
