Navarre key-forward Aaron Slorach had a day out in front of the goal, kicking 11 goals for the game, after reaching double digits by three-quarter time.

Patrick Gleeson opened the goal scoring in the first term when he goaled for Lexton from a free kick. It was the only goal Lexton would score until Justin Hobson steamrolled Luke Hendy and kicked truly in the third term.

After Gleeson’s opening goal, Navarre kicked the next six goals in succession, including three goals to Slorach.

Their midfield boasting Jack Mentha, Zak Varley and Sam Walker were winning the ball in the contest, allowing the Grasshoppers to apply scoreboard pressure to lead by 31 points at quarter time.

Lexton tightened their defensive pressure in the second term, but Navarre still won the quarter with three unanswered goals to lead comfortably at half time by 52 points.

It was the Aaron Slorach show in the third quarter, as the big forward marked everything and kicked truly on six occasions to have his 10th goal on the board at three-quarter time.

His 10th goal came from a 60-metre bomb from Mentha which fell short into Slorach’s hands on the goal line. Navarre led by 88 points at the final change.

Lexton goaled early in the final term through Gleeson, but Navarre put the foot down and shared five goals amongst five different goal kickers as they ran out very comfortable winners.

The Grasshoppers named Brady Tillig as their best player, along with Slorach, Sam Rickard, Angus Bade, Mentha and Will Moloney.

The Tigers named Luke Guelen, Adrian Verhoeven, Aidan Broughton, Logan Thomas, Lucas Blazko and Jeff Debast as their best players.
