MCDFNL Round 9 Netball Preview Campbells Creek v Natte Bealiba
With premiership rivals Avoca having a round nine bye, Natte Bealiba can move to the top of the A grade ladder with a victory at Campbells Creek Recreation Reserve against the Magpies.
Harcourt did provide pressure throughout, but the Swans managed to extend their unbeaten run with a 51-27 win over the Lions.
Alongside the typically excellent Ella Tranter and Chloe Ross, Darci Rodgers made a successful return from injury in Natte’s round eight victory, generating several defensive turnovers as she looks to be a valuable midcourt option down the stretch.
Shooter Annalyse Carroll also came into the side against Harcourt, scoring eight goals in her Natte debut alongside Chelsea Ross and Sian Mortlock, who continue to be a formidable shooting tandem.
While the Swans remain dominant at the top of the standings, Campbells Creek enters the second half of the home and away season still searching for a victory.
The Magpies started well in their final game before the King’s Birthday long weekend break, keeping pace with a red-hot Trentham side during the first quarter.
Unfortunately for Campbells Creek, they were unable to maintain their early pace throughout the match, limited to 11 goals in the final three quarters.
With Newstead, Maryborough, Maldon and Harcourt in their next four games after their trip to Natte, the Magpies will strive to refine their offensive game plan before that string of potentially winnable games.
