CHW’s spokesperson said there has been a “significant decrease” in foot traffic since COVID.

Although customers can expect normal hours until September 25, the office will then only be open one day a month until the end of the year.

A CHW spokesperson said there will be a “high level of support” for customers to access online options or alternatives such as the post office.

They also said they will maintain a local presence through regular pop-up engagement sessions.

“More details will follow on the regular pop-up sessions that will provide opportunities to connect with our team face-to-face and access services and support as needed,” they said.

According to the CHW spokesperson, the Maryborough office has seen a “significant decrease” in foot traffic, front counter inquiries, and payment transactions compared to before the pandemic.

“While the office was closed during COVID-19, many customers made a successful adjustment to embracing one or more of the wide range of customer contact and payment options now available,” they said.

The organisation also emphasised that no staff jobs would be lost from the office closure.

“The existing Maryborough staff will continue to be an important part of CHW’s future service offerings and will be fully supported to transition to working from the Ballarat office,” they said.

Customers requiring support can connect with CHW via website live chat, www.chw.net.au or by phone 1800 061 514 or via email customer.enquiries@chw.net.au
