However, they must have been wondering what was happening in the opening term as Avoca was providing a tough and spirited contest, kicking four goals to the Lions’ five and the home team was only trailing by 10 points at the first change.

But from this point in the game, it was one-way traffic.

Avoca could only manage to kick truly on two more occasions for the game, while Harcourt slammed another 21 goals.

Avoca’s lack of scoring power has been a problem this season and only four players were able to split the big sticks on Saturday.

Harcourt shared their goals amongst nine different players, including five more goals to Baxter Gurd who slotted 10 against Maldon the previous week, and six more to Jed Rodda who also slotted six in round four.

Gurd is sitting on top of the goal kicking table alongside Trentham’s James Regan with 24 goals apiece.

Harcourt named their best as Jack Threlfall, Rodda, Braydon Vaz, Geoffrey Jolly, Mark Noonan and Alex Code.

Avoca named Bryce Howell, Scott Cawthan, Riley Hamilton, Alex Bowd, Jordan Thomas and Matt Wardlaw.
