The Giants will now be very confident heading into the tail end of the season as a result of this victory, jumping up to ninth and are just one rung outside the top eight.

The opening term saw the Giants put the first two goals on the board through Jacob Rollason and Karson Guareschi, getting the visitors up and about.

However, Billie Dunne answered for Creek when he gathered the ball out of the ruck and his snapshot was true.

Hadley Bassett was having a great game, kicking two goals including one goal on the run which put Creek in front by a point, and the Giants knew that they had a contest on their hands.

However, the Giants stood up to the challenge and finished the quarter strongly with goals to Brock Walker, Jonathon Short and Brandon Carter to lead by three goals at the first break. These were very important goals as three goals was the winning margin.

It was goal for goal in the second term, but Creek managed to reduce the margin to 10 points at half time.

Nick O’Brien was providing a target for Creek as he and Dylan Stevens connected on two occasions in the third term, but four goals from the Giants pushed the margin out to 23 points at the final change.

It was an exciting final quarter, especially with Creek kicking the first three goals. Dylan Stevens had a big say, involved in many of the home team’s forward moves, resulting in goals for himself, his brother, Mitch Stevens, and James Martinovic.

Cody Wright then wrestled the momentum away from Creek, with his goal stabilising the Giants’ lead halfway through the term and they held on to win their second game in succession.

Rhys Wagstaff and Rollason were key players in the Giants’ victory as were Walker, Zayne Earl, Scott Miller and Matthew Johnston.

Creek named Lachlan Hyland, O’Brien, Mitch Stevens, Mitch Langley, Tyson Williams and Tom Langley as their better players.
