The group’s nine exhibiting members are sharing their art across mediums including collage, glassware, and acrylic paint.

‘Diversity in Styles’ is an eclectic exhibition which reflects the group’s 15-year-long philosophy — members can share whatever they’re working on.

Juliette Jose has been a member for a little over a decade returning not only for the art but the community.

“It’s a great place to be together and to try different styles,” she said.

“It’s very good as a social outlet as well.”

A melting pot of small town creativity, the working group also helps remedy the challenge of a blank canvas.

“If you haven’t got an idea in mind you really have to scratch your head. Sometimes the hardest thing is to actually start something. To have a blank canvas in front of you, it can be quite daunting,” she said.

Mrs Jose turns that obstacle into fun by being inspired and inspiring others.

“We can always try something different. If we’re getting bored with what we’re doing we can have a look at what someone else is doing and pick up some ideas and try something different,” she said.

“We certainly get energy from each other.”

The complete works are across two rooms at the historic station turned art gallery — although finished can be a blurry line for Ms Jose.

“It’s always hard to stop,” she said.

Her trick, however, is to see how she feels after living with the artwork.

“Occasionally I’ll sit a work in the lounge room at home and I’ll just live with it for a week. I’ll have a chalk pencil and I’ll just mark something,” she said.

“It gives you the reminder that’s the spot I’m working on.”

Mrs Jose hopes locals are inspired by the creativity in their local community and invites them to join the Talbot Art Group.

“I’d hope that they’d go away with a feeling that there are talented people in the area. That they can join if they want to,” she said.

‘Diversity in Styles’ is on display at Gallery 127 until July 28.
