Community marks NAIDOC week 2025
The 2025 NAIDOC week event was an exciting and energetic celebration, recognising local Indigenous history and culture at the Maryborough Pony Club.
Local NAIDOC Week celebrations came early with hundreds gathering at the Maryborough Pony Club yesterday for tradition and fun for all ages
Yesterday, many local schools, kindergartens and community organisations took part in the event, participating in a traditional smoking ceremony, crafts and getting close to live animals.
This year’s NAIDOC Week theme is, “The Next Generation: Strength Vision and Legacy”, recognising “50 years of honouring and elevating Indigenous voices culture and resilience”.
Organised by the NAIDOC committee and led by Asteria in partnership with numerous or-ganisations, the celebration was a place for all students and attending community members to come together.
