Avoca continue win streak, besting Harcourt
It’s high fives all round for the Avoca Bulldogs, who remain undefeated after five rounds after their 48-goal victory over the Harcourt Lions.

After winning two of their first three matches in 2025, Harcourt were keen to keep their strong start to the campaign rolling against their toughest test yet.
The Lions showed flashes in the opening moments, but Avoca flexed their offensive muscle early to take a 16-8 lead at quarter time.
Fresh off scoring 50 against Campbells Creek, Bulldogs superstar Maddy Egan went a perfect 12 for 12 in the first term while teammate Gina Beavis scored four goals.
Jordan Bagley kept her hot shooting touch from the Lions’ win over Maldon last week, netting seven goals from nine attempts while Gemma Papadimos scored one.
As the Bulldogs continued to unlock the Lions defence, Avoca upgraded their defensive security, conceding only five goals from 10 shots in the second quarter to extend their lead to 22 goals.
While Beavis had some struggles with four goals from 10 shots, Egan picked up her scoring contribution to 15 in the second term.
Bagley made the most of her limited chances in the quarter, netting four while Papadimos added one.
Avoca didn’t show any mercy to their opponents coming out of the main break, as the Bulldogs were hungry for more in the third to take the quarter 18-8.
Egan copied her second quarter performance, scoring 15 in the third as Beavis netted three.
Harcourt tried their best to feed their hot hand in the goal circle, with Bagley converting all eight of the Lions’ goals in the third term from 11 shots.
The reigning premiers put the icing on the cake of another impressive performance, outscoring the Lions 21-5 in a frantic final quarter to extend their margin of victory to 48.
For the third consecutive quarter, Egan scored 15 to end up with 57 goals from just 66 shots while Beavis started to find her shooting touch late, making six goals in the last period.
Bagley finished with a game tally of 24 for Harcourt after scoring all five of her team’s goals in the fourth quarter.
