2026 MCDFNL Netball Round 4 Preview — Campbells Creek vs Lexton
For the second week running, Campbells Creek will attempt to slow an undefeated side when they host the fast-starting Lexton.
The Magpies were keeping pace with a white-hot Dunolly last weekend, finding themselves level at quarter time following a late-term upswing. Despite eventually falling away from the Eagles in the second half, Campbells Creek have several building blocks to take into this weekend.
While they were unable to fully flourish due to limited service, Reagan Fulford and Claire Jones made some exciting cameos in the attacking goal circle, scoring 16 goals from a combined 20 attempts.
Meanwhile, the revamped Tigers haven’t put a foot wrong in 2026, defeating the Maryborough Giants, Maldon and Harcourt all by at least 15 goals.
A key characteristic of Lexton’s recent premiership window has been their ability to contain their opponents on the scoreboard, a valuable attribute that’s remained with their new-look core.
The Tigers have allowed a measly average of 32.3 goals per game in their first three matches, allowing their attacking tandem of Rachel Phelan, Charlize Kennedy and Darci Berry to familiarise themselves and develop some valuable chemistry.
With a key run of fixtures to their finals aspirations that includes Talbot, Dunolly, Avoca and Navarre on the horizon, the Tigers would like to ease the pressure on themselves during that gauntlet with a win tomorrow.
The battle of the midcourts will be crucial for Lexton and Campbells Creek in their upcoming clash. Eliza Bell and Caitlin Howell will likely be asked to contain Taylah Sartori and Heni Moeke, who are key to the Magpies’ ball movement.
